Well done, Molly - leaps and bounds, my dear - leaps and bounds. Just watch that line of the cross (is it?) that complete bisects the picture plane above the figure's head. You know, if you made some of the black ink work into red instead, it would make things really pop. One thing I've seen Phil Hosking try is very simple; create a flattened version of this image and then simply play with the hue/saturation adjustments/colour balance/etc - it will push your image into lots of different moods very quickly; of course, you can do this layer by layer too, but I know that Phil often does away with lots of layers quickly, and is bold enough to work back into a flattened image - to relax a bit about making changes. (Obviously do a 'save as' when you do this and keep the layered version!) I think you should make some bold lighting decisions too, that the cauldron is emitting light somehow. Time to blend this world together a bit, Molly - work into it - and I'd get rid of that sail/cross - or rethink it at least, because I think it's going to work against you. If her cave floor is covered with bones - it would be pearly and white - it would also be reflecting a lot of soft 'moon' light upwards... Anyway - again, probably killing you with excitable suggestions, so I'll bugger off and await your next move with interest - how about (god, sorry, another suggestion) - how about treating this next stage with the same flair and looseness as your thumbnails - for example, flatten, make changes, save as, post - and repeat until you're creating a variety of decisions made, from which to draw conclusions - this way you can be free and easy and allow instinct and happy accident and hunches to come into the fold...
