Juan Antonio Bayona's 'The Orphanage' Screenshots...

This film again is delayed but it's really nice for an example of making a home being made unheimlich:

I know there's a lot of screenshots here but as I'm still undecided as to what I want my final scene to consist of I just wanted to capture everything that I felt was effective in making me feel unsettled.  The story of this film is that a family move into a new home, an old orphanage the mother once lived in, and a lot of jumpy and pretty freaky things follow.  This was all about the family feeling unsafe in their own home and thus makes for very interesting research material.

  1. It's so great you've picked up on The Orphanage - a wonderful, understated movie :D

  2. I agree! It's a really unnerving but also touching movie too! I forgot how much I liked it until I watched it recently :P
