Following Andi's advice, I started looking into nocturnal creatures as the cleaning team will be working at night. Below are the few I selected to play with:
Here's what came out:
I was mostly looking at the fox, sloth and flying squirrels and they're all quite same-y, but I like the big head and little face of 8 so that's something I may play around with next. Anyway, back to the drawing board! :)
ooh - bush babies too!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I don't think you need to shoe-horn the idea of hoovers etc. giving you silhouettes for these characters - that's just one method, and it may not synch; but in order to create distinctiveness, you are looking for some clear connection between their roles, their talents, and their appearance. Obviously - principle priority is to make them super-cute; but you know, I've got a feeling that you might need a villain in the mix to cut through some of the sugar...
I think you might be right there. I've been struggling to get a solid mix of three characters and I keep being drawn towards/distracted by the Nightmares of the world.
DeleteI don't think the silhouettes of vacuums have been working either, but I definitely want the characters to feel like the device they're using is theirs.
I'll pop bush babies into the mix and just draw, draw, draw! :P
