I've given her some draping cloth instead of her previous dress. After a bit of feedback it has come to my attention that it's probably not really floaty enough for something underwater, and there should also be some kind of rope tied around her to hold it on.
That said, I'm pretty impressed with what I've managed to do so far. I've improved a lot and am looking forward to what happens next! :)
I haven't got too far yet as I've been enjoying rejigging this young lady:
Bottom right image has her head tilted slightly.
I still need to tweak her hair, smooth out the lumps and probably re-design her dress a bit but she's looking good and I'm enjoying it, which is great!
Next is thinking about texturing and redoing the scene's lighting. Looking pretty nice with only a few in there though:
I'm pretty excited at the moment so here's hoping it continues! :D
The top drawing wasn't from reference, but I used
images to help improve how I draw 3/4 views.
Curse you squiffy eye!
I'm definitely improving now. The final drawings show that I'm sort of starting to draw faces more realistically now, but there's still a long way to go, especially when it comes to face shapes. Good stuff though, very exciting :)
Over the summer I'm planning on making Inari from my previous Character Design project. To do this I'm going to recapture what I lost from the early drawings and make her more original than she was. I'll also be using this as an opportunity to improve my drawing skill.
Here are the first face sketches:
They're getting there, but there's something I keep repeating as I draw that makes all the 3/4 views look squiffy. I'm going to keep drawing from reference so I work it out and will eventually be able to draw more original features too.
It's all good stuff though! Also, the sooner I pin down Inari's design, the sooner I can start work on Kitsune and maybe even get to do a little animating too! So, onwards! :D
