A Plushie!..
One of my first full plushie experiments:
He's a fluffy grump! (I was gonna call him a Grumpkin but according to Urban Dictionary, it means something COMPLETELY different). He was fun to make and my first attempt at something completely soft using the terrifying sewing machine. It turned out pretty well for a first go so expect more in future! :D

A Few Bits & Bobs...
A couple of sculpted things:
The Birthday Otter - a gift for a friend.
Tiny Birdies - Because miniatures fascinate me at the moment.
I've also just received my copy of 'Children's Writers' & Artists' Yearbook 2014'.
Wow! I read a couple of sentences and already learned a huge amount. It helps with everything from generating your first ideas, all the way through to whether you need an agent or not. It's truly excellent (thanks Phil!) and I've already started writing a few rough 'Dream Cleaners' stories. It's exciting to be excited about them again, and I look forward to what comes next :)

Practicing the Puppet Tool...
To improve my 2D animation skills I've taken to teaching myself the Puppet Tool in After Effects. Here's my first attempt:
He's a Loomer, a character that I'm working on and I thought he'd be a good first try. After getting a bit more confident I took an old character to work with:
A familiar face from a previous summer project, he's much more successfully animated than my first one. Next one should be a good'un :)

Dachsusaurus Lives!...
He's finally all painted and alive!
He stands quite nicely but I definitely learnt a lot about making a better armature for the next one.
A bit of a close up. I tried to add a little extra texture with the paint, just to make sure he wasn't so flat colour-wise.
He's pretty darn cute if I do say so myself! Now back onto my Halloween project! :)
