Guinea Pig Sugar Skull!

Because why not?

Learning more tools on Illustrator these days, although there are still random errors I don't quite understand. I kept this one relatively simple in comparison to my previous 2, but I'm very happy with my progress :D

JanuARTY Drawing Day 11: Jareth, The Goblin King...

A particularly sad day today. We lost the Goblin King. He's a huge part of my childhood, and of what makes me who I am today so I'm a bit at a loss really.

"It's only forever. Not long at all..."

#JanuARTY Drawing Day 9 & 10!

A random portrait and an Acanthus leaf. If I get stumped for ideas I use Random Image Generator, that's where the photo for the portrait came from, as well as the previous Tree Frog :)

JanuARTY Drawing Day 8: A Couple of Forget Me Nots

Running on fumes tonight, so I just managed these little wildflowers :)

An Anemone in Illustrator!

I took my previous Anemone sketch and recreated it in Illustrator. It turned out really well, and I got to learn a lot of new tools too :D

JanuARTY Drawing Day 6 & 7: An Anemone Flower & a Tree Frog!

I'm pretty chuffed with these 2! The frog is particularly cool I think ;)

I have another Illustrator file on the go, based on the anemone drawing, which I can hopefully get it finished and uploaded tomorrow :D

Vector Sugar Skull!

I thought I'd see if I could recreate one of my Sugar Skulls in Illustrator; if it works out I can use them for all sorts of exciting things.

Turns out I could & she looks ace! I'm particularly chuffed with how pretty that rose is.
Expect more of these things to come ;)

JanuARTY Drawing Day 5: A Lily & A Sugar Skull Giraffe!..

A lily! In no particular style, just trying to draw it from a photo :)

A Sugar Skull Giraffe! Requested by Jon's youngest sister & it was a lot of fun :D

JanuARTY Drawing Day 4: Roses & Some Sugary Fun!..

The first was a copy to learn the style, the second was trying to adapt the style to a photo of a rose.

Here's a bit of Sugar Skull fun, but on a pony! :D

Just a warning, there will be more of these. I've just had a request to do a Sugar Skull Giraffe next, so that'll be interesting too :P

JanuARTY Drawing Day 3: Sailor Jerry-Style Pin Up...

This one's my own design, based on Sailor Jerry's American Traditional style. I quite like it; there's something really satisfying about drawing the faces :)

JanuARTY Drawing Day 2: Sailor Jerry Continued...

Drew another Pin Up and had a go at some of the lettering. Turns out, I'm no good with straight lines :P

JanuARTY Drawing Day 1: Sailor Jerry...

A Sailor Jerry Pin Up girl, and she turned out pretty nice! I think I'll be trying this again soon :D

JanuARTY Drawing Practice Continued: Lotus Flowers...

A couple of sketches of a lotus flower. The top one was my first attempt at copying a photo, and the second was my attempt at making a more visually pleasing one.

I may colour these at some point, but the focus is on drawing, drawing, drawing for now :)

JanuARTY Drawing Practice: Lana Del Rey...

I'm hoping to improve my pencil & paper skills so me and Richard Page are taking part in #JanuARTY, where we draw something everyday. Super simple, but lets hope I can keep up :D

This is my first drawing in ages, and it's based on Lana Del Rey and her lovely face. I'm pretty happy with it, so I'll have the next practice up soon! :)

Portrait Painting Practice: Lana Del Rey...

Based on the picture below.

I think it's turned out pretty successfully. It's not finished yet, because I keep spotting elements that need tweaking or changing, but just as a practice I thought I'd post it up and continue to post any updates on it too. For my first attempt at a digital portrait painting, I'm pretty chuffed with it.

Here's the progress gif!

Quick Refresher Illustration...

Using the same technique as the space rodent, I drew a load of random lines then picked something out from them. I ended up with this alien/magic lady and bird lecturn/stage. I haven't spent more than an hour on her and I don't know if I'll take her any futher, but I think she looks pretty cool :D

Giant Rodents from Space!..

Giant space rodent!

This was pretty fun; I drew a load of random lines on a page and picked this guy out of them. Something to try again I think :D
